PREPARING FOR YOUR PROCEDURE
Eating and Drinking:
Do not eat or drink 4 hours prior to your procedure unless directed otherwise.
Medications:
Stop all blood thinners 7 days prior to your procedure. This includes Aspirin, Plavax, Ticlid, Heparin, Lovenox, Aggrenox and Coumadin. Always check with your prescribing physician before stopping your blood thinner to make sure it is safe for you to be off of it for that length of time.
Stop all anti-inflammatory medications 3 days prior to your procedure. This includes Mortin, Advil, Ibuprofen, Aleve, Naprosyn, Anaprox, Naproxen, Mobic, Celebrex, Clinoril, Relafen, Voltaren, Feldene, Lodine and Toradol.
You may take your other regular scheduled medications with a sip of water.
Tylenol and and medications with Tylenol are OK to take.
Clothing:
Wear comfortable clothing, something with elastic preferably.
Transportation:
Do you need a driver? You will only need a driver if you are going to be receiving sedation for your procedure. You may not drive yourself. We cannot send you home in a taxicab unless you are accompanied by an adult.
If you do not receive any sedation you may drive yourself.
